My name is Butch Clydesdale, I am a forty-something guy who loves to learn. My growth is very important to me. I am a programmer by profession which forces me to be a quick learner, even when I don’t want to. I like to read and always have a couple books going at any one time.
Work
As mentioned, I am a programmer and web developer. I began coding as a teen-ager and have over 14 years professional experience behind the keyboard. My career in software development has been diverse, ranging from interactive multimedia CD-ROMs, designing and creating Windows desktop software, developing network client/server software, architecting complex web applications and, of course building websites.
My current employer is RIESTER, an advertising agency in Phoenix, AZ. I was hired as a Sr. Web Developer and have been employed there since February 2010. I was promoted to Associate Director of our Digital department in June 2011. I love the team I work on and look forward to many years there. I am an entrpreneur at heart and have ventured into self-employment a few times, without a degree of success. I have worked both as a freelance programmer and full-time employee for many companies over the years.
Personal
I am married to Jessica Clydesdale and we have three children together — Daniel (20), Jacob (16) and Gabriel (14). Yep, all boys. We tried for a girl, but were not able to pull it off. The two younger boys attend a college prep school named Chandler Prepatory Academy and do their best to make good grades. Daniel is curently attending Chandler-Gilbert Community College. All of them are athletic and enjoy a year-round dose of sports (basketball, football & baseball).
Interests
I love coffee, music, soda, beer, good food, walking, reading, talking, collaborating with collegues on the next big project or widget, coding, creating software and my Mac.
Dreams
- I would like to open a coffee shop one day.
- I would like to own a cabin in the woods.
- I would like to be able to walk and run on the beach every morning.
