After a year of having my iPhone, I have decided to go Android. I was pretty happy with my iPhone until recently when I upgraded the phone to iOS4. After the upgrade, I immediately noticed a HUGE reduction in speed. Every app now took forever to open and switching between apps — forget it. The biggest difference was email, switching back and forth between my multiple email accounts and messages became a horrible experience. I do like the new threaded email feature, but again slow to use.
Using the iPod on the iPhone is so slow switching between screens and it now hangs on certain screens. I have to do a hard reboot on the phone at least every few days now, I did not have to do that before.
I understand the new iOS4 is more demanding on the hardware and RAM, I really do get that. Problem is the only way to remedy this is to buy a new iPhone 4 or revert back to the previous OS. I actually have considered reverting back to the previous OS, but then I could never update the phone with security patches or enhancements at all. Not an option for me.
At the time I bought my iPhone, I was really stuck between that and an Android phone. I decided on the iPhone because of the “coolness” factor. And that was nice for a time. Now, I am ready to give Android a try.
I looked at the new iPhone and was impressed with it. I looks cool and was considering it seriously. I was turned off by the way Apple handled the whole antenna issue.
So…bye bye iPhone — I am looking at the HTC Incredible, there is a photo of it above. What do you think?
